Leader-Tim-Scott

Tim Scott

Deacon

Tim has served Sandy Springs as a deacon since 2019. He retired in 2024 from his work as a nuclear power plant inspector, and previously was a carpenter for many years.

Tim grew up Roman Catholic and found it to be a religion of works rather than grace. As an adult he attended a mainline Presbyterian church, but still did not hear the gospel clearly preached until he and his family found an Orthodox Presbyterian Church in the 1990s. There the Lord brought him to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Tim married his wife Maggie in 1977, and together they have three grown daughters and three grandchildren with whom he loves spending time. He also enjoys sports, going to quilt shops with his wife, and gardening—he tries different types of vegetables while Maggie vies for space for her flowers.
