Bernie has served Sandy Springs as a deacon since 2006. He came to know the Lord at an early age in a neighborhood tent revival. He is a mechanical engineer and is the former president of Bedinger Consulting Engineers in Knoxville where he now works part time. Bernie and his wife, Jean, are both avid hikers; in fact, they’ve hiked all the trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park twice. He also enjoys gardening, beekeeping, and spending time with his twelve grandchildren.
