Bernie has served Sandy Springs as a deacon since 2006. He came to know the Lord at an early age in a neighborhood tent revival. He is a mechanical engineer and is the former president of Bedinger Consulting Engineers in Knoxville where he now works part time. Bernie and his wife, Jean, have been married 46 years and are both avid hikers; in fact, they’ve hiked all the trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park twice. He also enjoys gardening, beekeeping, and spending time with his twelve grandchildren.
